Spring Baskets Service Project
Our service unit has a tradition of providing spring baskets to children enrolled in the Leucadia, Encinitas, Solana Beach,
and home-based Project Head Start preschool programs in North County. Your troop can help us continue that tradition.

BASKET SIGN UP: Please sign up to help us reach our 2020 goal of 375 baskets!
BASKET FULFILLMENT: Please bring your completed (unwrapped) baskets to our Leader Meeting on April 21, 2020.
DELIVERY DATES:
Delivery will take place in May, 2020. Exact dates, times, and other details TBD.

tips
Items should be assembled in a sand pail.
Each pail should contain 12 like items in each container, and baskets should be unwrapped. See suggestions below.
Encourage your troop to be involved in this process as much as possible! In the past, troops have shopped together at the Dollar Store (and learned how to shop on a budget), assembled the baskets, included a card from the troop, etc.
How the Service Unit helps:
2015 - Donated 215 baskets
2016 - Donated 254 baskets
2017 - Donated 278 baskets
2018 - Donated 365 baskets
2019 - Donated 348 baskets
2020- Goal is 375 baskets!
Suggested items to include in baskets:
Art Supplies: Crayons, markers, construction paper, coloring book, stickers
School Supplies: Writing pad (wide-lined), paper, scissors, pencils, erasers
Books: Spanish or English
Clothing: Socks, underclothing, hat
Personal Grooming: Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, wash puff,comb
Small Toy: Bubbles, puzzle, game, etc.
Snacks: Individual bag of cookies, pretzels, gummy fruits, snacks (no candy)
Sample Basket includes 12 of the following items:
Crayons, coloring book, pencils, stickers, writing pad, safety scissors, socks, Kid's toothbrush with toothpaste, shampoo, turtle wash puff/scrubber, bubbles, small book
