Community Service

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. There are many opportunities for girls to volunteer and get directly involved in their communities.

Service Unit Service Projects

Each fall and spring, our service unit organizes a service unit supported service project designed to help members of our community. Encinitas Girl Scout Troops volunteer to host these projects and enlist the help of the rest of the Encinitas Girl Scout Troops to make these projects happen.

Encinitas Service Unit- Annual Fall Food Drive Service Project
Each fall, our Encinitas Girl Scout Troops collect canned foods and other non-perishable food items and full-size toiletries for one of our local food banks. This year, we will be collecting items for the St. Andrew’s Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted through November 10, 2019. See the Food Drive page for additional details.

Encinitas Service Unit- Annual Spring Baskets Service Project
The Encinitas Service Unit started a wonderful tradition of providing Spring Baskets to children enrolled in the Leucadia Head Start preschool program.  Each spring, Troops and Families donate supplies and help assemble baskets for preschoolers in need. Details to be announced in Spring, 2020.

Community Projects at Encinitas Schools

Looking for a community project right in your own backyard?  Are you interested in earning a patch while providing service to a local school?  Kaley, Tori and Brooklyn from Troop 1744 met with several school principals in Encinitas to come up with great service project ideas as part of their Silver Award.
